If you need any type of demolition services, the team at U.S. Demo and Hauling can help and we handle residential demolition and commercial demolition projects throughout the Bay Area. While we always hope you will select our demo company, we recommend that you ask any demolition contractor the following questions.

  1. What Types of Demolition Services Do You Offer?

At U.S. Demo and Hauling, we offer a wide range of demolition services, and it’s important to select a demolition company that specializes in the type of demolition that you need. In addition to commercial demolition services, we also offer:

  • Garage Demolition
  • Interior Demolition
  • Total Residential Demolition
  • Concrete Demolition
  • Selective Demolition
  • Building Demolition

  • Trailer Removal
  • Swimming Pool Demolition

  1. Can You Provide A Written Estimate? Will It Include Any Potential Additional Costs?

We do provide our customers with a free estimate. In general, our level of experience allows us to provide customers with accurate estimates, but there’s always the possibility of additional costs and we can let you know what these might be.

For instance, it’s possible that permit fees might differ from what we have on our estimates, as municipalities sometimes increase fees providing very little public notice about these changes. Additionally, there’s always the possibility that we will encounter hazardous materials and these must be disposed of correctly and carefully which can take on extra time and extra costs to a project. Typically, however, our estimates are going to be very close to the cost we quote you.

  1. How Long Will The Project Take To Complete?

Every project is unique, and larger projects such as a complete house demolition will take longer than swimming pool demolition or garage demolition. However, when we meet to gather details for your free estimate, we can let you know how long we anticipate the job will take. This could range from just two or three days up to a week or more for a larger commercial property. We always do our best to complete each job as quickly as possible, without sacrificing safety and quality of service.

  1. Will You Obtain Any Necessary Permits?

Acquiring the necessary permits and inspections is crucial and this can be a difficult task for homeowners and business owners. Because we’ve been working with cities throughout the Bay Area for years, we are familiar with all of the codes and regulations for each individual municipality. Not only will we handle the demolition permit, but we also will handle inspections and the disconnection of utilities.

  1. How Will You Depose Of The Debris

We focus on providing environmentally-friendly demolition services. This means we always do our best to recycle as much of the materials as we can with any given demo project. We often can recycle many materials including lumber, concrete, bricks, pipes, dirt, drywall and much more.  Any hazardous materials also will be removed carefully and disposed of properly to ensure the safety of our team and the surrounding neighborhood.

  1. How Can You Minimize Disruptions To Neighboring Properties?

There’s no getting around the fact that any level of demolition can be disruptive to neighbors, and we always recommend going around the neighborhood and letting your neighbors know about a demo project and the expected timeline.

For our part, we obviously work on projects during reasonable hours, which minimizes noise disruptions for your neighbors. To minimize dust and other debris in the air, we may be able to water down the site. Completing projects quickly and on time is one of the best ways we minimize disruption, and we have a large, experienced team of demo experts, which allows us to complete projects in a timely fashion.

  1. Are You Licensed, Bonded & Insured?

Yes, we are. While you should never hire a demolition company that isn’t licensed, bonded and insured, it’s also important to learn a bit about the different types of licenses for contractors in California. For instance, we possess C-8, C-12 and C-21 licenses.

The C-8 license identifies us as a licensed concrete contractor, while the C-12 identifies us as a licensed earthwork and paving contractor. C-21 identifies us as a building moving/demolition contractor. Our license number (756605) also is listed on our homepage, and all demolition contractors should have this number on their website.

You can go to the Contractor’s State License Board (CSLB) to check any license number to ensure that the license is active and to check if any civil judgments have been reported to the CSLB. For just about any type of contractor, it can be smart to spend just a few minutes researching their license. The CSLB also will provide the company’s bonding information.
